Founding GTM & Partnerships Lead
We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet 100% of the requirements
At Mixedbread, we believe search is the bottleneck for modern AI systems. Our mission is to build the next generation of retrieval: multimodal, multilingual, and capable of surfacing the right context across any format. We help AI teams build better products without rebuilding the retrieval stack from scratch.
About the role
Mixedbread has shipped a major new version of its product and is gaining traction with customers. We are looking for a founding GTM & Partnerships Lead to help turn that momentum into repeatable growth. This role sits at the intersection of sales, GTM systems, partnerships, and customer development. You will work directly with the founders to build our external operating engine: shaping pipeline, sharpening our narrative, deepening customer and partner relationships, and making sure launches convert into real traction. This is not a traditional Chief of Staff role and not a pure quota-carrying sales role. It is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to help define how a technical AI company goes to market from the ground up.
What you'll do
- Build and run Mixedbread's GTM operating system, including CRM, lead tracking, segmentation, pipeline hygiene, campaign execution, and lightweight reporting.
- Support founder-led sales by researching target accounts, preparing meetings, coordinating follow-up, and keeping opportunities, pilots, and design-partner conversations moving.
- Partner with the founders to sharpen Mixedbread's positioning, messaging, and market narrative across launches, the website, decks, outbound, and partner materials.
- Turn product launches, release notes, and technical content into coordinated distribution across social, email, outbound, and partner channels.
- Identify, develop, and manage ecosystem partnerships that can expand Mixedbread's reach, credibility, and customer pipeline.
- Manage key customer relationships from first conversation through onboarding and early success, coordinating closely with founders and engineering.
- Design and run high-signal growth initiatives such as technical events, workshops, dinners, and design-partner programs.
- Collect customer and market feedback, synthesize insights, and feed them back into product, GTM, and partnership strategy.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of experience in startups, business operations, GTM, partnerships, growth, product marketing, sales, or a similarly high-ownership role.
- Strong bias for execution; you do not just advise, you get hands-on and drive work to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex technical ideas into clear messaging.
- Comfort operating in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment and creating structure where little exists.
- Able to context-switch across GTM, partnerships, customer conversations, and founder support without losing momentum.
- Genuine interest in technical products and the ability to work credibly with engineers, researchers, and technical buyers.
- Care deeply about customer relationships and can turn feedback into product and GTM action.
Nice to have
- Experience marketing or selling developer tools, AI products, or technical B2B software.
- Experience building or managing CRM, sales, or marketing systems such as HubSpot, Airtable, Notion, or similar tools, and using them to drive measurable outcomes.
- Experience supporting founder-led sales, partnership development, or design-partner programs.
- Experience running product demos, pilots, events, or other creative growth initiatives.
- Strong content and distribution instincts; you can translate technical launches and research into compelling external communication.
- Comfort using modern AI tools for prototyping, research, and GTM workflows.
- Experience working closely with founders or an executive team at a small or scaling startup.
- Excited to grow into broader company leadership over time.
