Configuration

Configure the Mixedbread MCP server with your AI assistant in just a few steps.

Prerequisites

Before configuring the Mixedbread MCP server, ensure you have:

  1. A Mixedbread API key - Sign up on our to get your API key

  2. An MCP-compatible AI assistant - Such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or Cursor

  3. Node.js 20 or higher (optional) - Only required if you want to run the server locally for development

Server Endpoint

Connect to our hosted MCP server at:

https://www.mcp.mixedbread.com

Your Mixedbread API key is passed as a Bearer token in the Authorization header.
