Google Drive Connector
Import selected Google Drive files and folders into a Mixedbread Store and keep them synchronized.
The Google Drive connector imports selected files and folders into a Store. Selecting a folder includes its files and subfolders, while individual file selection lets you keep the import narrowly scoped.
Before you begin
You need a Google account that can access the Drive content you want to import and a Mixedbread organization with access to Data sources.
Connect Google Drive
Choose Google Drive
In the Mixedbread Platform, open Data sources, select Create, and choose Google Drive.
Choose the destination Store
Enter an optional Store name. Leave it blank to use google-drive- {your - account}.
Review the Store configuration
Google Drive uses metadata contextualization with fast ingestion by default. Expand Store configuration only if you need different behavior.
Authorize Google Drive
Select Connect Google Drive, choose a Google account, and approve the requested access.
Select files and folders
Browse Drive from the connector page. Select the files and folders to synchronize, then confirm the selection.
The first selection queues an import. Mixedbread keeps selected files and folders up to date as their contents change.
Selecting a folder synchronizes all files and subfolders inside it. Exclude a child item separately when it should not inherit the parent folder's synchronization state.
Manage the connector
Open the Google Drive data source to browse folders, search the current folder, and review each item's status.
- Select Sync to import an excluded file or folder.
- Select Unsync to stop future updates for an item.
- Use Sync now to re-check selected files and folders for new or changed content.
- Use Disconnect to remove the saved Google credentials and stop receiving Drive changes.
Unsyncing or disconnecting does not delete previously imported Store files.
Filter files
Select File filter on the connector page to sync only some of the selected files, for example only PDFs, or everything except drafts.
- Only sync: a file must match one of these patterns. Leave it empty to sync every selected file.
- Never sync: a file that matches one of these patterns is skipped, even when it also matches Only sync.
Patterns match a file's path in Drive, such as My Drive/Reports/2026/q1.pdf.
A pattern matches the file itself or any folder it is in, so matching a folder
covers everything inside it. As you add patterns, the dialog spells out what
will sync and what will be skipped.

/matches a folder and everything in it. - Matching ignores case.

Paths start with My Drive, Shared drives/<drive name>, or Shared with me.
A file shared with you sits under Shared with me, starting at the highest
folder you can open. Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides match by the format they
are imported as: .docx, .xlsx, and .pdf.
Saving a filter re-checks the selected files, so files it now allows are imported. Files it now skips stay in the Store but stop updating. Skipped files show as Filtered when you browse the connector.
Troubleshooting
A file or folder is missing
Confirm that the connected Google account can open it. Shared Drive and shared folder content only appears when the account has access.
A nested item has the wrong status
Check whether it inherits synchronization from a selected parent folder. You can explicitly exclude or reselect the child item.
Changes have not appeared
Run Sync now to re-check all selected files and folders. Review the item status for unsupported content or access errors.
A selected file shows as Filtered
The file filter skips it. Open File filter and check whether a Never sync pattern matches the file, or whether Only sync has patterns and none of them match. Patterns also match the folders a file is in, so renaming or moving a folder above your selection can change the result. Run Sync now to re-check the selected files after such a change.
